Wassenaar — On Saturday, 12 September 2015, SIDH organised a family gathering for the home-staff of the Indonesian Embassy and our teachers. According to the Principal, Mr. Budi Wahyu Rianto this event was intended to tighten the bond between SIDH’s teachers and the home-staff and their families. Mr. Rianto seized the opportunity to introduce of teachers and their family members; and in his turn, our Chargé d’Affaires, Mr. Ibnu Wahyutomo introduced the home-staff and their family members. Many of our pupils this school year are children of our home-staff.

In the afternoon some of our alumni were also present because at the same time an alumni reunion was also taking place in Jakarta. One of our home-staff and alumni, Mr. A.T. Marentek succeeded to set a live connection with the event in Jakarta.

This programme was closed with some musics and luscious BBQ.

Wassenaar — SIDH held the kick-off of the re-accreditation of the school on Tuesday, 22 September 2015. SIDH’s Principal, Mr. Budi Wahyu Rianto kindly requested the Attaché of Education and Culture of the Indonesian Embassy, Prof. Bambang Hari Wibisono to officially launch the re-accreditation programme of our school which is expected to finalise in October-November 2016. Dr. Safreni was inaugurated as the chairperson of this process. And all teachers attended this relaxed-ambiance kick-off.

The latest accreditation of SIDH was in 2011, as part of its designation as a foreign School by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of The Netherlands.

Wassenaar — Sekolah Indonesia Den Haag (SIDH) commemorated the International Day of Peace in our campus, 21 September 2015. The event was included as a part of the regular Flag Ceremony. During the ceremony our Principal, Mr. Budi Wahyu Rianto reminded the audience about the importance of living in peace. After the ceremony the transfer of Students Association’s Committee was carried out and the new committee officially inaugurated. Representing the students both Fariz (former chairman) and Nadia (new chairperson) signed the formal transfer documents and eventually co-signed by Mr. Rianto, Mr. Siswoyo and Mr. Yadi. Other teachers and students solemnly witnessed this annual transition of students leadership.

Wassenaar — Nadia D. Zafira was elected as the new chairperson of SIDH’s Students Association (OSIS) for 2015/2016 through a heated contest, Friday, 11 September 2015. She replaced Fariz M. Hanif as the new head of the OSIS; while Verel P. Kadarusman was elected as the second-person-in-command. The speedy and smooth transition was expected as the new school year had started.

This new leadership moved quickly, by electing the new committee members. Approved by the Principal, Mr. Budi Wahyu Rianto, they held the first coordination meeting and, according to the plans of action, the Red Cross/Crescent and Youth Red Cross activity for students was organised one week after the election. Moreover, it was this new leadership brass that planned the solemn observance of the International Day of Peace in our campus, 21 September 2015.

We put a high expectation on this new OSIS leadership and committee members…and in a quick sequence so far they have showed us they have the capacity and capability to maintain the trust.

Wassenaar — The Indonesian School of The Hague (SIDH) celebrated the 70th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence on Monday, 24 August 2015. It was led by our Principal, Mr. Budi Wahyu Rianto. Members of our Colour Guard who had taken part during the Flag Ceremony at our Ambassadorial Residence one week earlier became the ceremony officers of that day.

Although we do regularly observe the Flag Ceremony every Monday morning; however, this commemorating ceremony was apparently exceptional as during which Mr. Rianto addressed the audience and participants with motivational speech composed by our Minister of Education and Culture, Dr. Anies Baswedan.
