R.I.P. FORMER H.E. AMBASSADOR HABIBIE, 12 MARCH 2012
Wassenaar Campus — The civitas academica of SIN Wassenaar has been saddened and overwhelmed by the feeling of loss upon receiving the information on the passing of the former H.E. Ambassador Mr. J.E. Habibie, this morning. He departed this worldy life toward the eternal rest peacefully in Jakarta, on Monday, 12 March 2012.
Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raaji’uun (Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return, Q.S. 2:156), we would like to offer our heartfelt condolence to his family, that our thoughts and prayers are with him, may God’s forgiveness and blessings be upon him.
The whole civitas academica and management of SIN Wassenaar are the witnesses of Mr. Habibie’s full support and care for the improvement of our school during his tenure in The Hague, and all of his best efforts to achieve such end will be memorable, and we remain grateful of him.
A moment of silence and prayers were organised at our school this morning, including a sholat ghaib for the former Ambassador Habibie.
SI WASSENAAR CONCLUDES 1ST TRY-OUT
Wassenaar Campus — SI Wassenaar wrapped up the first round of the national final examination try-out on 23 February 2012 for Junior High School (JHS) and on 24 February 2012 for the Senior High School (SHS). This try-out began on Monday, 20 February 2012, which was taken by 4 JHS and 6 SHS students. The result will be sent to the respective parents and guardians next week.
SI WASSENAAR WELCOMES AA GYM
Wassenaar Campus — The Indonesian School of Wassenaar (SI Wassenaar) welcomed A.A. Gymnastiar, an Indonesian motivation trainer, who visited our school on Monday morning, 20 February 2012. A.A. Gym was accompanied by Mr. W. de Weerd, Mr. Ramon Mohandas and Mr. Sundawan. An informal talk was organised in the teachers room, followed by a motivation session and discussion with the school’s whole community.
During this brief encounter A.A. Gym reminded the students to use their time wisely and to develop excellent behaviour (akhlaq: bringing peace, happiness, and benefits to others).
The visit was concluded with a photo session.
SI WASSENAAR ORGANISES OPEN DAY, 18 FEBRUARY 2012
Wassenaar Campus — Indonesian School of Wassenaar (SI Wassenaar) organised an Open Day on Saturday, 18 February 2012. It began at 11.00 and officially ended at 15.00, although some students and teachers remained at school until 18.00.
During the event SI Wassenaar students exhibited their works and creativities ranging from cultural, scientific, musical and artistic ones. This event was also attended by Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indonesian Embassy, Mr. Umar Hadi, Attaché of Education and Culture, Mr. Ramon Mohandas, Mr. Sundawan, participants of Indonesian Language Course, parents/guardians, alumni, potential students and their parents, and representatives of mass media.
This activity was aimed at promoting Indonesian education and culture as well as introduction of the school to wider public in The Netherlands and beyond as a centre of Indonesian education, culture and language, and to enlarge the student intakes.
This successful event was coordinated by Ms. Djena Roehoeputy and assisted by Annisa Zoontjes c.s.
