Wassenaar — The Indonesian School of The Hague (SIDH) organised a farewell tribute for Mr Budi Wahyu Rianto who is concluding his term as the Principal of SIDH, on Thursday evening, 28 July 2016. By 31 July 2016, the moment he would leave his office in Wassenaar, Mr Rianto will have dedicated his best effort as the head of our school for 3 years, 5 months and 15 days (the longest since 1999).
This occasion was attended by H.E. Ambassador I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja, our Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr Ibnu Wahyutomo, our Attaché of Education and Culture, Prof. Bambang Hari Wibisono, home and local staff of our embassy, parents and guardians and, of course, all our school community. In his address Ambassador Puja expressed his remarks on the awesome achievements reached by SIDH under the leadership of Mr Rianto. The ambassador also highlighted some virtues of Mr Rianto that he was very polite, hospitable, correct, and possessed strong principles, and hoped that his successor would continue the success story.
In his turn, Mr Rianto thanked all SIDH stakeholders – including our former Ambassador Retno Marsudi, currently Indonesia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs – and apologised for any shortcomings from his side during his assignment as the Principal of SIDH. His special thanks went to the parents of our students who while they had the choice to send their kids to other schools but opted to send them to SIDH instead.
Earlier in the event a dinner was served. Special attractions and shows were performed by our students — in groups — devoted for Mr Rianto. The intensity of feeling during this farewell tribute reflected that Mr Rianto had really accomplished his term at SIDH successfully. We hope all the best for Mr Rianto in the next level of service. Tot ziens, Pak Budi!
On behalf of SIDH we would like to thank Bu Nathalie, her team and our school community – including the present alumni, parents and guardians – for organising this magnificent farewell event. And certainly we conveyed our gratitude to the Indonesian Embassy, H.E. Ambassador Puja, Mr Ibnu Wahyutomo, Prof. Bambang Hari Wibisono and teams for the unceasing support for the progress of SIDH.
