Wassenaar — Following the national schedule of Primary School Final Examination, SIDH organised the ‘Ujian Akhir SD’ from 16 through 18 May 2016. This years 12 of our PS students sat for the final test, joined by 6 PS students from the Indonesian School of Belgrade.

The examinees received a morale boost from H.E. Ambassador Puja. We were all overwhelmed by our Ambassador’s brief visit as he specially called at our school and directly conveyed his good wishes to the test takers. He was accompanied by Mr Budi Wahyu Rianto.

Wassenaar — To commemorate Earth Day 2016 SIDH planted cherry blossom trees (Japanese Prunus serrulata ‘Kanzan’ and Prunus ‘Kiku-shidare-zakura) near the main entrance of our campus on Friday, 13 May 2016. The selection of plant types was decided after a discussion between OSIS and SIDH, and availability of the trees from nearby garden centres. Although the trees only blossom about 2 months annually it remained exciting for most of our students are attached fans of many things related to Japan and Japanese.

The trees were planted in turn, from our Principal, Mr Budi Wahyu Rianto, Attaché of Education and Culture, Prof. Bambang Hari Wibisono together with the Indonesian National Police Attaché, Chief Commissioner Yuda Gustawan, and OSIS representatives (Nadia and friends). The whole process was assisted by Mr Mul.

The activities for the Earth Day at our school also included picnic-style of games for the students. We hope next year the trees will mesmerize us with spectacular flowers.

The Hague, 26 April 2016 — Mr Eddi Santosa, the correspondent of the Indonesia’s prominent online news portal, Detik.com released his eloquent coverage of SIDH gamelan team that had performed during the occasion of President Joko Widodo’s sojourn to The Netherlands.

Kurhaus Hotel, Scheveningen — SIDH played gamelan music before President Joko Widodo and representatives of Indonesian communities in Grand Hotel Amrath Kurhaus Hotel, Scheveningen, Thursday evening, 22 April 2016. It was the most distinctive honour of SIDH history that’s performing gamelan before an Indonesian president. Our gamelan team was led by our Principal, Mr Budi Wahyu Rianto and assisted by Mr Suhardi, Mr Sulimin, Mrs Reni and Mr Mul. It also consisted of our selected students.

The Jacob Pronk Room of the Kurhaus was fully packed by Indonesians to welcome the 7th Indonesia’s president. During the meeting President Joko Widodo explained about his missions visiting 4 important European capitals and the achievements his administration had already successfully attained. The presentation was followed with question-and-answer session.
