BALI DECLARATION: BOOSTING SILN EDUCATION AND SOFT-DIPLOMACY MISSION
Wassenaar — During a coordination meeting in Denpasar, Bali, 5-8 July 2013, the directors/principals of the Indonesian schools in foreign countries (SILN) enacted a joint statement which is dubbed as the “Bali Declaration“. According to the team leader, Mr. Budi Wahyu Rianto who is also the director of the Indonesian School in The Netherlands, this declaration is expected to boost the capacity and capability of SILNs to provide better and widened educational services to Indonesian children abroad. It is simultaneously considered to enhance the schools’ soft-diplomacy mission under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indonesian embassies and representatives, and all stakeholders. The declaration was signed on 6 July 2013 by all 14 signatories.
