Wassenaar Campus, 27 September 2011 — Just after the completion of the verification process which part of SIN Wassenaar’s accreditation, a forum of dialogue was convened in the teachers room. The assessors, Prof. Fakry Gaffar dan Prof. Ki Supriyoko, met with the teachers expressed their impressions and shared valuable insights, information as well as suggestions for advancing the school to obtain a foreign school status in The Netherlands and gradually toward the Indonesian International School in The Netherlands, a term Prof. Gaffar borrowed from our Chargé d’affaires at interim, Mr. Umar Hadi. Prof. Fakry suggested that SIN Wassenaar, as the only Indonesian school in Western European soil, had the potential to achieve that ultimate goal; however this requires strong commitment and support from the Indonesian government and related stakeholders.
In his turn, Prof. Ki Supriyoko informed the audience that for SILNs the verification programme is directly conducted by The National Accreditation Agency (BAN) teams. Having the opportunity to study for one year in The Hague in 1980s, Prof. Supriyoko also introduced education institutions he helps to manage in Yogyakarta, and he offered if SIN Wassenaar civitas academica happened to visit the city to come over to his schools and pesantrens.
On behalf of SIN Wassenaar, Mr. War expressed appreciation that SIN Wassenaar has been given the chance to take part in the accrediation process which he believed would be very meaningful and helpful to improve educational quality served at SIN Wassenaar. The process itself, he said, would encourage the teachers how to manage a school according to the national standard.
That late afternoon session ended the few hectic days and was concluded by presenting school’s souvenirs to the assessors. Our Director, Ms. Arbayah Kumalawati, again, representing SIN Wassenaar expressed our sincere gratitude and compliments especially to both assessors, school’s accreditation team, and the teachers.
