Wassenaar Campus — SIN Wassenaar organised several activities to wrap up the 2010/2011 Academic Year on Friday, 17 June 2011. It simultaneously covered an Open Day, presentation of scholarships for academically and qua character oustanding students, and information on the progress of students’ learning process and achievement.
Opening the festival, SIN Wassenaar’s Director, Ms. Arbayah Kumalawati showcased the route our school has been passing through, its high and lower tides and the incoming plans including a contextual cultural learning to historical sites in Greece and Egypt for the Junior and Senior High School’s students by the end of this year.
The Indonesian Attaché of Education, Mr. Ramon Mohandas who represented the Embassy delivered a very positive and supportive remarks in his speech; whereas Mr. Endang Arif Syarifudin representing the parents and guardians applauded the quality and competitive standard of edcuation SIN Wassenaar has provided to its students. As one of the evidences of such achievement was, cited Mr. Syarifudin, that all examinees of national exam this year could pass the final test.
In intervals the guests were entertained with musical and cultural performances by SIN Wassenaar’s students. In interlude, Ms. Ellis Klap, a staunch participant of the Indonesian language and culture course, shared her impression and appreciation to SIN Wassenaar. She amazed the audience with her Bahasa Indonesia. The prizes and certificates for the “best achieving students” in this academic year were also presented to the winners by Mr. Ramon Mohandas, Mr. R. Moormaan, and Ms. Myrna Njiokiktjien. Ten of our students obtained the prizes this year sponsored by The Moormann Beheeer B.V., The Stichting Indonesian Netherlands Association, and the Stichting Herdenking 15 Augustus 1945. Congratulations to our kids, and sincere appreciation to our kind sponsors!
The festival was closed with enjoying the delicious and tasty Indonesian meal, snacks and drinks; and words of prayer led by Mr. Hamdi, one of our instructors for the ongoing Indonesian language and cultural course.
