Wassenaar — Again, SIDH earned an honour to welcome our new extraordinary and plenipotentiary head of mission, H.E. Mr Ambassador I Gusti A. Wesaka Puja at our campus, Wednesday afternoon, 16 March 2016. Upon arrival Mr Ambassador Puja immediately joined the gamelan play. Besides Mr Ambassador, senior gamelan players of that day were Mr Suhardi Djojoprasetyo, our Principal, Mr Budi Wahyu Rianto, and the Attaché of Education and Culture, Prof. Bambang Hari Wibisono. This team was also accompanied by a group of our seasoned student gamelan players.
After the performance Mr Rianto officially welcomed Mr Ambassador, briefly introducing our school, students, teachers, achievements and development aspiration. In his turn, Mr Ambassador addressed our students in which he raised this issues: 1. Proud to be Indonesians; 2. Studying and learning optimally; 3. Be good leaders; 4. Concentrating and keeping high motivation to succeed to make our parents proud of; and 5. Indonesian Embassy is always ready to give help especially to students who were afar from their parents. The dialogue was continued with friendly discussions. Our kids asked a lot of questions and all received kind and clear responses. At the end Mr Puja requested the audience to sing ‘Bagimu Negeri‘ (For You, Our Country) song. After the closing session, Mr Ambassador informally mingled with our students and members of school community.
During the visit Mr Ambassador was accompanied by his wife, Mdm Rusdijana Puja. The Jakarta Post once described Mr Puja as a ‘dancing’ diplomat due to his artistic multi-talents and its passionate application in diplomacy. We were absolutely honoured by the visit as a token of kindness and attention from our new ambassador. Surely we felt grateful indeed.
