Wassenaar — In the vicinity of our campus SIDH observed the National Batik Day, Friday, 2 October 2015. On that day all members of our school community wore batiks. This event was organised by the newly-installed Students Association leadership and committees that saw the urgency to promote and preserve the tradition to wear this kind of typically Indonesian dress especially among the younger generation.
Eindhoven — Two teams of our students were invited by two Dutch secondary schools to share hands-on information on Indonesia to their school community, Tuesday, 22 September 2015. One group was from Year 8, consisted of (alphabetically) Jasmijn, Muti and Salma and accompanied by Anas and Rido. They held presentation at the Stedelijk College Eindhoven. The other group–all Year 10 students–consisted of Aurelie, Nadia and Titi introduced Indonesia at Heerbeeck College in Best. This delegation was guided and supervised by Mrs. Djena and Didjah (our former students).
Each team showcased 3 aspects of Indonesia: a general information of our country, its diversified culture and heritage; and its education system. It was very fascinating to the audience as some of both schools’ students are going to visit Indonesia.
According to our Principal, Mr. Budi Wahyu Rianto this promotional event was also supported by the Attaché of Education and Culture of the Indonesian Embassy.
Wassenaar — On Saturday, 12 September 2015, SIDH organised a family gathering for the home-staff of the Indonesian Embassy and our teachers. According to the Principal, Mr. Budi Wahyu Rianto this event was intended to tighten the bond between SIDH’s teachers and the home-staff and their families. Mr. Rianto seized the opportunity to introduce of teachers and their family members; and in his turn, our Chargé d’Affaires, Mr. Ibnu Wahyutomo introduced the home-staff and their family members. Many of our pupils this school year are children of our home-staff.
In the afternoon some of our alumni were also present because at the same time an alumni reunion was also taking place in Jakarta. One of our home-staff and alumni, Mr. A.T. Marentek succeeded to set a live connection with the event in Jakarta.
This programme was closed with some musics and luscious BBQ.
Wassenaar — SIDH held the kick-off of the re-accreditation of the school on Tuesday, 22 September 2015. SIDH’s Principal, Mr. Budi Wahyu Rianto kindly requested the Attaché of Education and Culture of the Indonesian Embassy, Prof. Bambang Hari Wibisono to officially launch the re-accreditation programme of our school which is expected to finalise in October-November 2016. Dr. Safreni was inaugurated as the chairperson of this process. And all teachers attended this relaxed-ambiance kick-off.
The latest accreditation of SIDH was in 2011, as part of its designation as a foreign School by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of The Netherlands.
Wassenaar — Sekolah Indonesia Den Haag (SIDH) commemorated the International Day of Peace in our campus, 21 September 2015. The event was included as a part of the regular Flag Ceremony. During the ceremony our Principal, Mr. Budi Wahyu Rianto reminded the audience about the importance of living in peace. After the ceremony the transfer of Students Association’s Committee was carried out and the new committee officially inaugurated. Representing the students both Fariz (former chairman) and Nadia (new chairperson) signed the formal transfer documents and eventually co-signed by Mr. Rianto, Mr. Siswoyo and Mr. Yadi. Other teachers and students solemnly witnessed this annual transition of students leadership.
