I have a wish to spend my next vacation in Indonesia because I miss my friends in Indonesia very much to hang out together. Here in Holland, I feel so boring because I haven’t got a lot of friends, not like when I was in Indonesia.

I think Holland is a beautiful country with a lot of green colour when you see that from aeroplane. But that isn’t true for me; even the truth isn’t like what I feel.

I would like to write some wise words that I deduce from my experience: “Life isn’t like we knew. It isn’t always easy or trouble-free. And life will give you abundant of choices so that you must think twice before you make a decision. Has it already known to us which way we will go through? Only God knows it and don’t ever forget God.

On Thursday, 24 March 2005, the entire student and some teachers from Indonesian Embassy School went to the Movie Park in Botrop, Germany. Three cute babies (Jasmijn, Aida, and Hannah) also went along with us. We departed from The Hague at 9 o’clock in the morning by bus. In the journey I didn’t talk too much as usual because I was tired. It took about 4 hours and then we arrived at the Movie Park.

I was very excited because when I arrived I saw there is a roller coaster and the biggest one looks like challenging me to try it. We tried a lot stream games, like the Bermuda Triangle, the ice ages, etc. and I separated from our teacher.

I hung around with Arif, Amar, and Andrey. We were very excited when firstly we tried police coaster, I turned on fire when it started. I sat beside Arif, Andrey and Amar in front of me. It was very dark! I couldn’t see! I just felt like on fire and the world turned around. It took about 3 minutes.

After that we continued our exploration to the next roller coaster where we met some other friends. They were sitting in the chair, and then I met Indah (3 SMP), she said that she also wanted to try the same roller coaster. So I accompanied her. The roller coaster is different; we are hanging on the chair, I saw that Indah was scared when it came to the top. I screamed, a lot of bad words, but I heard Indah did the same things too. We were very happy!

The other friends were still waiting in that roller coaster, and then Indah and I decided to try the biggest roller. We didn’t remember other things, just the two of us because we were very excited. It takes a lot time to queue, there are also a lot of people want to try it. I can’t wait no longer, I wait for 20 minutes and then comes my turn. I fasten my seatbelt and take a deep breath. Then the roller coaster starts moving, it takes us to the highest position. We can see all things in that park. I feel my soul is gone at that time. That is fantastic!!!!!

And then come Arif, Andre, and Amar. They say that they want to try that biggest roller coaster. Indah and I with no doubt say, “Yes!!!

I have many friends, but one of them is my best friend. She always wants to hear all about my problems, and usually I also will hear her problems too. We try to get along with our problems and always look for better solutions.

I met her at the garden of my farmer elementary school. Her parents are my parent’s friends. I was very surprised when I knew that’s her house was near my house.

And then, if we wanted to go somewhere, to a mall or another place we always did it at the weekend.

Her name’s Novita and her nick name’s Novi. Her birthday is 21 November. Her favourite pet is cat; she has one cat in her house. Her favourite colour is pink, the same preference as mine. We usually played games like doll games or dancing in my room or her room.

Now, we meet very rarely and have never been together anymore to go to another place or somewhere, because this year had been very busy. But last month, we could meet again at our former elementary school and in a mall in the Jakarta city. After that we went around the mall and that time we were accompanied by other friends.

At my new school in The Hague I have a friend. Her name’s Nia. She’s like my sister. She’s very care and good with me like a big sister. She’s 17 years old and she comes from Indonesia too.

But we can’t play just with our best friend. We should play with other friends too. For many people in the world actually having a friendship is so important. (Tasya K., II SMP, 28 October 2004)

One day in the winter last year I checked whether the snow was thick or not because if it was thick enough we could play in the snow. And after I made it sure I found that the snow was already thick. All of the kids came out of the class to play the snow, and all of them were very happy. Then we made a snowman with my friends. Suddenly the big kids threw other kids and me with snowballs.

While we were playing the teachers asked us to make a picture together. After making some pictures we played in the snow again, and the big kids threw the snowballs again to all of the kids.

On Saturday the third grades got extra lessons at school, and Amr was there waiting for his brother. I played in the snow again with Amr in the school and, we made a big snowman, and I threw the big snowball to Amr and he attacked me back.

On Friday of the following week the snow was still there, and we competed to throw the third grades with snowballs. It’s very serious so we had to be careful in throwing the big kids.

In the following month I didn’t see the snow anymore, and I hope next year it would fall again (Andrey P, II SMP, 18 January 2005)
