COMMEMORATING “NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY” 2011
Wassenaar Campus — SIN Wassenaar celebrated the “National Education Day” this morning, 2 May 2011. The commemoration falls annually on every 2 May, the birthday of Ki Hajar Dewantara (Raden Mas Soewardi Soerjaningrat), a pioneer in the struggle for all Indonesians to obtain education during the Dutch colonial period.
The celebration at our school was coincident with the Flag Ceremony. The Attaché of Education from our Embassy, Mr. Ramon Mohandas was present at our campus as the Inspector. He read out the written speech of the Minister of National Education, Mr. M. Nuh, before the audience. The theme of this year’s anniversary is: “Character Education as Pillar of National Awakening”.
