INDONESIAN AMBASSADOR AT SIN WASSENAAR, 27 JANUARY 2012
Wassenaar Campus — SIN Wassenaar received the highest previlidge so far to welcome the new Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of The Netherlands, H.E. Ms. Retno L.P. Marsudi, Friday morning, 27 January 2012. H.E. Ambassador was accompanied by her husband, Mr. Agus Marsudi, and were received by the Attaché of Education and Culture, Mr. Ramon Mohandas, SIN Wassenaar’s Director, Ms. Arbayah Kumalawati, teachers and students.
In her welcoming speech Ms. Arbayah Kumalawati outlined the progress our school has achieved, including the recent accreditation by the National Accreditation Agency (BAN) and recognition by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as a foreign school in the b4 schools category, and participation of SIN Wassenaar’s delegation in the THIMUN 2012 representing San Marino.
During the visit, H.E. Ambassador was very happy to have the opportunity to call at SIN Wassenaar at the early moment of her assignment as the Indonesian ambassador in The Hague, partly on her husband’s suggestion and partly due to their full commitment on quality education for young people. She also suggested that SIN Wassenaar to stitch together, for example, with the University of Indonesia a sort of understanding and cooperation to facilitate our Senior High School graduates and to simplify transfer regulation for Indonesia students studying at Dutch universities who wish to relocate to universities in Indonesia. Furthermore H.E. Ambassador shared motivation to our students to possess international standards yet simultaneously remain Indonesians. A brief visit to the classrooms, library, and an inspection of facilities were conducted as well.
