My Experience Studying at SOAS, University of London
By Olga Amato, February 2006
I am one of the students who graduated from SIN last year. Before I did my final exams, I started to search information about universities in London because since long time ago I have been very interested in pursuing my tertiary education at a British university.
I was particularly interested in the SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies; a part of the University of London) and when I applied there, they asked me for an entrance test and an interview. One day I went personally in London and I did what they asked me to do.
The day after I received an e-mail informing that I was accepted at the SOAS. I was very happy about the offer, but I still had to wait to graduate from SIN to be able to go there, and I was a bit nervous not to pass the final exams. So I studied hard and the teachers helped a lot. Thank to God that I successfully passed the exams.
So here I am now, still in SOAS, and this a very great experience. Currently I deal with subjects on European society, politics and law. The next year I expect to commence the field of my specialisation at the Department of South East Asian Studies.
I had a very good time at SIN and there I learnt useful things for my future.
