SIN WASSENAAR PARTICIPATES IN THE HAGUE BRIDGE – SEGBROEK
Florence Segbroek – The Hague — SIN Wassenaar’s cultural delegation took part in The Hague Bridge Programme in the Segbroek part of The Hague City, Wednesday afternoon, 10 August 2011. The delegation consisted of a dance group with 3 dancers: Nuraini Indah Rahmawati, Nadira Febriani, and Annisa Rahmayanti, accompanied by Ms. Arbayah Kumalawati, Pak War and Pak Gun, plus chaperones.
The group awesomely performed the Rantak Dance, a dynamic traditional dance from West Sumatra (Minangkabau). It was a beautiful cultural display among other performances coming from different parts of the world. Some foreign embassies were also represented by having special booths such as Japanese, Malaysian, Polish, Haitian, Irish, and Filipino. The Hague Bridge really reflected the diversity of The Hague with different cultures and aimed at bringing closer its residents and the expats living in the international city.
