SCOUT PROGRAMME THIS WEEK, 29 APRIL 2011
Wassenaar Campus — All our students except those from XII Class took part in the scout programme this week, organised on Friday, 29 April 2011. Although the uniform was not there, led by Mr. Sundawan who was assisted by Mr. Zainuddin (member of our Embassy’s Guard Detachment), wearing only the red-and-white scarfs they participated enthusiastically in the activity. The tiny number of SIN Wassenaar’s students was part of the more than 17 millions of Indonesian scouts, the country with the largest scouting members in the world.
On that day they formed their groups which eventually gave rise to Diponegoro Group, Sultan Hassanuddin Group and R.A. Kartini Group, all named after our national heroes and heroine.
It was agreed, from next week, they will wear temporary uniform classified according to their own group: Diponegoro with blue T-shirt, Sultan Hasanuddin with white T-shirt, and R.A. Kartini with red T-shirt, and all of them will wear blue jeans trousers/pants. The next planned programme will be semaphore training, the use of field compass and map reading.
