SIDH COMMEMORATES INDONESIAN 71TH HEROES’ DAY
Wassenaar — SIDH observed the remembrance of the 17th Heroes’ Day, Friday, 11 November 2016 with a special ceremony. Actually the solemn event fell one day earlier.
It was a bit different from the Flag Ceremony that we organise every Monday morning. The tribute ceremony was added with the reciting of the famous citations of various Indonesian heroes. To cite one of them was from our first President Sukarno: “A great nation is a nation that respects the services of her heroes,” which Bung Karno expressed on the occasion of Indonesian Heroes’ Day on 10 November 1961.
Quite unique that the uniform we wore for this ceremony was our national clothing attire: batik.
