SIN WASSENAAR WELCOMES DEPUTY MINISTER OF EDUCATION AND CULTURE (EDUCATION)
Wassenaar — It was a wonderful opportunity for SIN Wassenaar to welcome the visit of Prof. Musliar Kasim, Deputy Minister of Education and Culture for Education Affairs at our campus on Friday, 11 October 2013. Among the entourage of the Deputy Minister were Mr. Ramon Mohandas, the former Attaché of Education and Culture at the Indonesian Embassy – The Hague, currently Head of Center for Curriculum and Literature, and Mrs. Diah Harianti, Director for Values Internalisation and Cultural Diplomacy. The delegation was accompanied by the Attaché of Education and Culture, Prof. Bambang Hari Wibisono and his assistant, Mrs. Rina Bergsma.
Before the call at our campus the delegation had visited the Primary Oranjeschool, Scheveningen. At this school the mission shared and comprehensively discussed diverse aspects of education system of both sides.
Led by Mr. Budi Wahyu Rianto, SIN Wassenaar’s civitas academica welcomed the delegation with a brief welcoming statement and the angklung performance by our students. In his turn, the Deputy Minister addressed our students, teachers and staff with motivations and shared relevant and most recent developments in Indonesian education. During this session the Deputy Minister personal expressed his delight that far-away from Indonesia there were youth who possessed Indonesian characters and embracing its norms and values, and at the same time, part of modernity.
The visit was concluded with lunch, discussion with teachers, and classrooms and school facilities inspection.
