SIN WASSENAAR WELCOMES NATIONAL ACCREDITATION TEAM

Wassenaar Campus — Monday morning, 26 September 2011, SIN Wassenaar officially welcomed Prof. M. Fakry Gaffar and Prof. Ki Supriyoko, two officials from Indonesia’s National Accreditation Agency (Badan Akreditasi Nasional). They are on formal visitation to verify all aspects related to SIN Wassenaar’s application for accreditation as a national school yet territorially located beyond Indonesian soil.

Received by SIN Wassenaar’s Director, Ms. Arbayah Kumalawati and teachers, both well-known experts in educational assessment joined the Flag Ceremony. Mr. Gaffar and Mr. Supriyoko were very impressed and a bit overwhelmed by the fact that Indonesian students were still able to solemnly sing the Indonesia Raya (the national anthem) and Berkibarlah Benderaku (a national song) while living far away from Indonesia. They were grateful for having a visit the school and hoped the young generation to make use positively the precious opportunity to study at SIN Wassenaar.

Prof. Gaffar is the former  rector of the Indonesian University of Education, Bandung, while Prof. Supriyoko is the Chairman of Education and Culture of the Supreme Assembly of Taman Siswa, Yogyakarta.

The verification activities will take several days, including a courtesy call to the Chargés d’affaires at interim, Mr. Umar Hadi, at the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague. As this assessment is the first kind in its history of existence, hopefully SIN Wassenaar would be able to satisfy the expected self-assessment standards which had been previously forwarded to the National Accrediation Agency in Jakarta for the preliminary evaluation.
