SIN WASSENAAR’S STUDENTS LEARN TO DRAW AND PAINT FROM A YOUNG TALENT
Wassenaar Campus, 11 April 2011 — Under the auspices of the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague, again SIN Wassenaar students are very fortunate to receive unprecedented opportunity that is a painting course given by Ms. Savitri Sastrawan, a young Indonesian painter of expressionist genre. She is a student at the Indonesian Art Institute of Denpasar, Bali, and she is in The Netherlands on the occasion of exhibiting of her works and refining her painting skill directly supervised by two Dutch painting masters: Mr. Willem Moerenhout and Ms. Vera de Vries.
For this event 3 classes are lucky to participate, namely Year 7, 8, and 11 (Social Sciences).
According to an Embassy official who is also the contact person of the activity, Mr. F.X. Widiarso, this is a part of Embassy annual programme to facilitate young painter(s) from Indonesia to exhibit their works, share and learn to enrich their painting capacity in The Netherlands. In between, they devote their time and expertise to train our students. This year’s programme will run until mid-June 2011, and SIN Wassenaar equips each student with all the required painting stationeries.
This great opportunity hails appreciation from SIN Wassenaar. Moreover, the school director, Ms. Arbayah Kumalawati believes that the participating students would gain significant benefits from the activity.
